ahhh.. it feels incredible outside. i’m at starbeez drank’n white chocolate cocha and enjoying the free wifi. No need to plug in my headphones because every car that passes by is bumping ridiculously rad tunes at volume 11… Anways, so much has happened since I last wrote! I now live in Los Angeles and just moved into a new home with my best friend Will Smith and wonderful girlfriend, Evan. The best thing about our new home is we can now operate Barely Blind in every aspect. Well… almost every aspect, the house will have wifi by 3pm today! But we now have our own practice space and plenty of room to get creative! So much music is about to be made, you don’t even know. Also, we’ve been planning these really neat projects we’ll be talking about soon. It’s all happening this year. 2012!!!

Our new album “Wilder Child of a Thousand Suns” comes out October 10th and will be available for free download at barelyblind.com. Tell someone!!! Also, we only have 4 cd’s left! We made 400 cd’s for our album release party and set a few a side. If you’re interested in one of the last 4 copies of the album we’re doing a contest.

So lately i’ve had so much on my mind it’s unreal. I figure the best way to deal with the anxiety is to write about it. I have to say i’m more excited than nervous, but if it were possible to weigh the two, they’d both be pretty heavy. We have been hard at work with Barely Blind and we’ll reveal our plans to everyone very, very soon. Over the next two months i’ll be finding an apartment in Los Angeles, working every single day to save up as much $$$ as possible, adding the final touches (alongside my 3 compadres) to the Barely Blind stuff, rehearsing, and packing. It is crazy to think i’m going to have a place to call my own, for the first time in my entire life. It is so inspiring to think about the future. I feel like I have no boundaries on my life.

We would like to offer our latest EP, My Life With A Giant, for free on our Facebook page to anyone that wants it, but doesn’t have it. By this time, that music is over two years old to the world and three for us personally. Since then, we’ve been hard at work writing our first full length. So, looking back on making My Life With a Giant, it leaves us with some laughs! We didn’t even have lyrics written until we were in the studio! This time around we are being patient. We are being diligent. We are also excited to keep this band going. Next month we’re heading back to our good buddy Korey Gable’s studio in Lancaster, PA to work out the first draft of our full length album. This is the same place we recorded “Nature of the Beast” and “Love! (Isn’t Everything).” Two songs from this session will be released before we relocate and officially record the full length record. We can’t wait to record “The Great White Buffalo.”

This morning I stumbled out of bed and headed straight for the coffee pot. Made me a nice cup of brew, opened my lap top, and got to reading. I came across one of my favorite bands, Tokyo Police Club, and they had posted a link to a live performance they did in the back of a Uhaul truck in NYC.
